Le Roi Des Nuls, or 'the King of Nought', comes from the artist’s struggle with the manic highs and extreme lows of Bipolar Disorder; a symbol to embody his journey and to shine a light on mental health.
-
The minotaur represents the battle between man and mind. He sits in a meditative stance - at peace with the conflicts that once consumed him. To be the King of Nought is to live life freely in the fragile balance of the present moment, with no expectations of the future and no regrets of the past.
-
The concept is an optimistic take on nihilism, to be the king of nothing is to expect nothing, a meaningless title devoid of worth. You are then free to live a life unburdened with worry and disappointment.
